Square Corners
Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS > Style Sheet, you'll see a bunch of mentions of .rounded-corners right at the beginning.
Change every instance of @arguments inside of these to 0 and it will remove rounded corners from your forum entirely.
So I replace only the @arguments to 0?

To make that square, visit the
Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS
area in your admin panel. Using the visual editor navigate to
Forum > Body (Content) > Containers > Title Bars
and set the border radius to 0px. That should take care of it.

You can change the link colors for the menu by going to
Header
(Top) > Navigation Tree Container > Links and changing the text color there.

Stop the Navigation Tree Drop Down Menu
If you go to your wrapper template
(Admin> Themes> Layout Templates>Wrapper)
and find what is posted below
(about 3/4ths of the way down)
you can add the red, which will remove it/disable it but keep the coding there in case you change your mind later. As you can see, the participate button(blue) is right above that so that button will remain.

If you want to just prevent the dropdown menu from showing when mousing over the navigation tree, try using this on your style sheet.
Admin > Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS > Style Sheet tab > paste on the very bottom:
